I have set up a site with front page being a basic page and designated as such on the site configuration page. However, I still wish to link to the slideshow from the front page (amongst other links). The other links work well (product page, actual position on product pages).
Is there a simple way to do this?
Not exactly sure what you
Not exactly sure what you mean but if you want the slideshow to appear on a page of its own a simple way would be to add a basic page called slideshow. Go to Configure blocks on site settings and configure the slideshow to appear only page slideshow. You can then link to it from your front page.
That should do it
I was taking the least-labor
I was taking the least-labor way. I started by using the base slideshow, disabling the existing images and adding my own. I then constructed a basic page and designated it as frontpage in admin>configuration. I was intending to have a link from the new frontpage to the slideshow. However, there did not appear to be any intuitive easy url to the slideshow. Your method may be cleaner.
