Configuring a component in Commerce Shipping

Hi Everyone!

I'm having a bit of an issue configuring a component in a Flat Rate service that I'm trying to offer on my site. It's meant to be a Flat Rate for delivery within a designated zip code area. I selected Postal Code (which I thought would be the same as zip code) as the value for the address component and I entered a list of zip codes as the value to compare against the address component. When I enter a shipping address that has a zip code that matches one of the zip codes in the value, I see the Flat Rate Zip Code delivery offered as a shipping option. However, when I enter a zip code that is NOT in the list of codes that I entered in the value, it still offers the Flat Rate Zip Code delivery option.

I only want to offer the Flat Rate Zip Code delivery to shipping address whose zip codes match those that are in the list of values.

Can anyone please shed some light as to what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you for your time!

I wonder if maybe my problem is the way that I listed the zip codes in the value. I listed them with commas.

Like this:

33016, 33173, 33030, 33044, etc...

Could that be the reason why the zip codes are not being recognized?

Should I separate them with someone else, like a semicolon?

Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Ok I am having a similar issue with country codes so it may not be the way your listing them. But to test it, try just having one zip code and then checking it works for that one, if it does then you might have to list them using multiple conditions and the use of OR's

I tried testing it with just having one zip code and it worked. I then created another condition (zip code)and added an OR, but it didn't work after that.
There must be some way of doing it where we can enter a long list of numbers or country codes. The county where I'm trying to offer flat rate delivery has 50+ zip codes.

Imagine having to create all of those conditions!

Ok you seem to be having a similar problem to me. I don't know if its a bug or if we're just doing it wrong, but it seems like a fairly common task, so hopefully someone with more knowledge can help. And yeah entering a condition for 50+ zip codes will be a pain, but it may be the only way its possible, and at least you only have to do it once ;)

I've just re-watched the shipping introduction here: http://vimeo.com/channels/commerceguys/page:3 and I'm going to have to watch it again later and check that I'm doing it right. So might be worth having a look at that if you haven't already, there's also lots of other good screencasts there.
