Date field in Checkout

I need to be able to add a Delivery Date field to the Checkout, Have worked out how to add a Card Message field to an order via Line Items ( thanks randy for the video)

But the date is only needed once per order, not for each order item. So should go in at the end via checkout.

Any ideas please.

I had the exact problem not long ago, here is the solution:

Install Date and Commerce Fieldgroup Panes and enable both.

Now go to store / configuration/ order settings / manage fields

Create a new field group and then create a date type field. Now put the date field into the fieldgroup you just created.

After this, go to Checkout settings in the store configuration and you'll find your fieldgroup with the date field in it in the Disabled section. Drag this whereever you want it and you're done.
