I have been searching on and off all day today and all I come up with is questions on this topic that are years old with no definitive answers.
Has anyone figured out how to do a Buy one, get one free scenario or is anyone working on an enhancement?
I can't imaging that no one has not solved this issue yet.

Eric,

For this kind of discount, I often recommend commerce_bundle. This module implements a bundle product which is a single SKU of a collection of products that overrides prices, sets a "Discount" and other features. Think of it kind of like how Amazon does the "Save money if you buy these two together" promotion. You actually have to buy the bundle to get the discount.
