I'm a newbie so please be gentle if this is really easy to fix.
I can't find where to slow down the slider for the front page. I would like it to be alot slower than it currently is.
Can anyone point me to the speed settings?

There aren't any settings in the UI, so you will need to either alter the slideshow javascript file or override it. Please note that if you alter the javascript file, this will most likely be replaced as and when you upgrade your kickstart.
For reference, the javascript file can be found at profiles/commerce_kickstart/modules/commerce_kickstart/commerce_kickstart_slideshow/commerce_kickstart_slideshow.js
