2 users, 2 products, 2 email notifications

Trying to determine the most basic way to have two different notifications go to two different users upon making a purchase. Certain users (Subscribers) pay only $12 for a subscription and need to be given specific direction upon purchase. Other users (Members) pay $400 for a membership and their communication is different from that of the Subscribers. Could this be accomplish via rules? Setting conditions in a loop? Thanks so much!

PS This is my first post here so I hope I have not violated any community guidelines inadvertently.

First of all, welcome!

Second of all, yes you could accomplish a customized email notification in Rules.

1) Go to /admin/config/workflow/rules

2) Clone the "Send an order notification e-mail" ... we're going to create a new one. Do this for each kind of message you want to send out.

3) Rename the rule something that makes sense

4) Add a condition called "user has roles"

5) Select which roles should have this notification

6) Done!
