Duplicating existing content type information etc.

I have not been able to find ways to either: (1) duplicating an existing content type when creating a new one which I can then modify; (2) exporting and importing all settings for the various types of informations created, e.g. content types, products, product variations, taxonomies etc. rather than laboriously recreating them when needed.

Have I missed something?

haga389,

First, for exporting / importing there's a great project called "Features" that lets you export all of your site's settings and content types in the form of an installable module.

http://drupal.org/project/features

Next, to allow you to duplicate "types" of products / content types ... you would need something pretty cool.

You can clone specific products using this tool: http://drupal.org/project/commerce_product_clone

Or you might be able to create a "feature" of the content/product type and then use http://drupal.org/project/drush_clone to create a copy of that content/product type using the command line.
