Is it possible to install Kickstart 2.0 on a subdomain of an existing site?

Hi,
I have an existing site and I would like to add a store to it using a subdomain, i.e. store.example.com. Is it possible to do this? I have been familiarizing myself with multisite installs, but nothing like this is covered. if it is possible, how would I do it?
Thanks!

Sure - I've done that before. If you are using apache use NameVirtualHost and a wildcard SSL certificate.

Hi,

This is pretty easy and straight forward. You need one Drupal Commerce code base in your root directory and two domain folders in your sites directory. Each site will use a separate database. You will configure apache virtual servers to point to each domain with the respective web address. That is the jist of it.

Just did some research on this. What I am looking for is more along the lines of the Drupal part. Usual multisite installations share the same Drupal code base. I am looking to install the Commerce Kickstart distribution on a sub domain while still maintaining the original Drupal install on my main site. My main site being the portal to the subdomain which is the ecommerce store. I would have a "Store" link on the main menu of my main site which would take them to the ecommerce site and when the user clicks on "Home" in the ecommerce site it would take them back to the home page on the main site.
