Kickstart or Vanilla Commerce for Event Registration?

Hello!

I'm starting on an event registration type site and wanted to start with Kickstart. After trying it out, it seems awesome, but tailored specfically for more typical e-store use cases. I'm having a hard time getting deep enough into the "guts" of the kickstart site to shift its focus. If in the same position, do you think its better to just start with vanilla Commerce and build the registration site from scratch?

thanks!

I would start from scratch.
Kickstart is made specifically for physical products.
All Kickstart modules (the admin theme, etc) are available separately, so you can easily add the parts you like.

It realy depends, what your final goal will be.

Maybe Drupal itself allready does enoght for you.
You can enhance it step by step, until you are at the level of kickstart, which is nothing else, but a drupal with lots of modules.
