Using Commerce

Hi all,

I'm looking for some decent instructions for using Drupal Commerce. Is there a book or a manual? Specifically i am looking for information on adding products and fields etc.

currently i can only see that this is possible by adding one field at a time?

Also is it possible to have products inherit from each other?

ie - if I have a product vehicle, with products which inherit from it being car and motorbike, so I don't have to re enter all of the fields which both would have (ie engine size, horsepower, emissions etc)? if you see what I mean?

I have to admit I'm struggling with the online instructions as tehy seem a little sparse...

Thanks,

Johnny

Johnny,

I'd highly recommend reading the "Getting Started" page above. It was designed with you in mind and has links to the user guides that give you lots of tips on how to get started.

I can tell you the inheritance idea has been brought up a lot and will likely be a part of the Commerce 2.x that will run on Drupal 8. Until then, the best way to deal with inheritance is to put the attributes that are common to more than one SKU on the Product Display, and put the attributes that change for each SKU (color, etc) on the actual Product.
