Using Inline Entity with Commerce Flat Rate Shipping

Commerce Shipping, Commerce Flat Rate and Especially Inline Entity are great modules. But, I am having a problem with flat rate shipping talking to the term attributes used in the inline entity section of the nodes.

The online entity uses two taxonomy terms: the size of the product and whether the client wants to buy a single unit or pair of units. Everything worked great and the proper choices flowed to the Commerce Order Form.

I wanted to use Flat Rate Shipping based on the product size and whether they want a single unit or pair of units, because that determines the box size, and thus the shipping/handling charges.

The problem I found is that even though the inline entity form uses the taxonomy terms, the taxonomy database does not recognize the nodes it creates and therefore I can't use those taxonomy terms to built the flat rates built on those size/quantity entity terms.

Since the inline entity form adds those terms to the description of the node in the cart, I tried to write a rule to read that the text of the line item to pull out the size and quality, but could not figure out to do that either.

If anyone has an idea on how to use the flat rate with the inline entity term attributes, I would be eternally grateful.

On which entity type are you using the inline entity form?
And which entity type are you managing inline (what is IEF adding?)

I did not understand what you're trying to do at all :)
