Commerce Kickstart ships with Migrate 2.5. I've been learning Migrate on another (non-commerce) project with 2.6, and there are some significant differences that make me sad to have to deal with 2.5 on the Kickstart site I'm building. There is even Migrate 2.7 out now, and users are encouraged to use that over 2.6.

Kickstart has been holding on to Migrate 2.5 for quite a while now. Is there a reason for this? Will something break if I try to upgrade Migrate on my Kickstart site to 2.6/2.7?

If I do update Migrate, is there any easy way to do this outside of Kickstart's module collection, so that I can still keep Kickstart up to date without having to install the newer Migrate module over the older one each time?
