I have added a field that is a term reference to my variation type and also checked "Used for categorizing products (Places the field in the "Product catalog" vertical tab)" when editing the field.

But this field does not appear in the vertical tab of the Product catalog when I am adding an new product.

I understand that I can add this field to the content type and then it will work. But I want to have this field also in "Add to cart confirmation" display and if the field is part of the content type, it is not available in "Add to cart confirmation" display.

At the same time I want to use this field in Facet API and there it seems to be unavailable if it is part of the variation type.

How to solve it?

Why the new field does not get placed to the "Product catalog" vertical tab even though I check the respective checkbox when editing the field?
