Are deposits possible?

My current client wishes only to use their web store to collect a £100 deposit from users of the site, regardless of what and how many products they have in their cart.
Is this possible in Commerce and if so, how would you go about doing it?

I'm guessing the other products are paid upon delivery or something else.

I'd treat it as a Rule. If you look under actions in rules, you'll see 'Add a product under cart'.

Make a product named 'Deposit'.

Make a Rule to add the product every time someone's checking out.
