The American® Express Payment Gateway enables you to conduct business through a secure platform that meets your e-Commerce and digital payment business needs.

Step 1: Set up an acquiring bank account

You will need a merchant account at an acquiring bank before completing the registration for the American Express® Payment Gateway. Merchants based in the USA can apply for a merchant account here. Note that Bank Card Services will then work with you to complete the entire application process.

Step 2: Sign up for American Express Payment Gateway

Register for your American Express Payment® Gateway account and completing the subsequent forms. You'll need to know your acquiring bank merchant number. 

Step 3: Install and Enable the module

The module is already pre-installed in Kickstart, you just need to enable it by going to the main menu under "site configuration < modules, then searching for  the American Express® Payment Gateway module and checking the enabled box. Click save to complete this step. If you’re not using Commerce Kickstart, click the blue button above on the left to download the module; the enable process is the same.

Step 4: Get the credentials and configure the module

Once you have completed the application in step 2, you will be contacted by American Express® Payment Gateway with your credentials. You will be able to configure the module with these credentials under the store settings < payment methods menu.
