In this video I demonstrate how to do a complex pricing rule - where you use a taxonomy term applied to the product (and accessible from the line item) to determine whether a discount should be applied. The manual page that goes with this video is drupalcommerce.org/node/461

not user friendly at all
The dates of the sale and the discount percentage should be declared as fields in the sale term.
It will be more generic, and won't force the merchant to use rules interface which is in my point of view not at all for end user.
It will be great if such rules could be included in commerce kickstart with corresponding sales vocabulary.
