Drupal Commerce is an open source eCommerce framework built from the ground up on Drupal 7. It defines the core systems and components you need to build any type of eCommerce website or application, making as few hard-coded assumptions as possible about your products or business model.
The project is being built and maintained through its project page on drupal.org, the Drupal community website. This ensures active participation and oversight by other Drupal developers and security team members. As a result, all bug reporting and extension development (in the form of contributed modules and themes) also happens on drupal.org.
Drupal Commerce is maintained by Commerce Guys, a Drupal development and consulting company that has specialized in eCommerce since 2008. The code was written from scratch to target Drupal 7 but carries forward many of the same concepts that were present in Ubercart, the project out of which Drupal Commerce was born.
Here on DrupalCommerce.org, you'll find documentation for Drupal site builders in the user guide and for module developers in the developer guide. This site is also the primary user support and self-help community, where you can find answers to common configuration questions and open discussions on new features or extension ideas. Site developers interested in having their sites featured in the Showcase should get in touch through our contact form.
